Sic Transit!

Not long ago, Polaroid, like Apple today, was a consumer technology star, with no end, it seemed, to its string of
successful innovations.

By the time of this meeting, Dr. Edwin Land had retired, and the company was beginning
to market its legacy.

MALE CHARACTER NARRATOR
(grizzled Polaroid veteran):
When you've been around Polaroid as long as some of us, you learn to feel the
big moments coming...

I remember what it felt like that day in 1947, when we unveiled the world's first instant camera system.

I was just a young engineer, but I knew history when it stared me in the face. So
did everybody else that day.

History had told us the "impossible" just might be possible--and now, through hard work and ingenuity, we had made it happen...almost.

I remember how apprehensive
we all were, as we watched
Dr. Land peel off the first print--he was banking the entire futurof the company
on this moment.

Sixty seconds counted off.
And then...

Sheer delirium! We had
fired a shot heard round
the world.
