Long Distance Information

This assignment was somewhat unusual, in that I was three degrees removed from Gant, the direct client. I worked with the video producer
to prepare a pitch, which we presented successfully to the client's ad agency.

At that point, most of my work was done: it was only one more small step to completion of a
"shootable" script.

NARRATION:

Catch...drive...finish...
Every stroke is a quest for the perfect run:

Maximum power through handle, shaft, and blade...cutting the water at exactly the right angle.

Individual perfection times 8...

Or 4...

Or 2.

Alone, the oarsman is his own team.

Shell, oars, body, and mind, mesh in a single perfect design for rowing.

The championship calibre oarsman has a unique character that shows in everything he does—

And Gant salutes him.

He must discover his own mixture of power and form—then blend it with the efforts of his crewmates.

And when there is no more to give, he gives more, up to the point of exhaustion...and beyond.

To miss...

To let fatigue prevail, for even a few seconds, can mean the race.

MUSIC: TRANSITIONAL
